As part of Men’s Health Week, the team at Mentell hosted a thoughtful and inspiring webinar on how to access support, whether for yourself or for a family member navigating a significant life change or struggling with their mental health.
We were joined by David and Steve, who shared personal stories about what brought them initially to Mentell Circles for support. Now, on the other side of their journeys, they serve as facilitators and proud members of the Mentell team, helping others find their path to healing.
David’s recommendations for support services:
- Mentell – A UK charity that provides groups for males 18+ to talk in a safe and confidential space free from advice and judgment. A space where you are welcome to speak, but only if and when you are ready, find a circle online or in person using the Circle Finder on their website.
- Hub of Hope – The UK’s largest mental health support directory.
- Kooth – An online support service for young people aged 10 to 25. A great resource for young people or family members in your life.
- Qwell – Free digital mental wellbeing support for adults across the UK, including professional and community support, and personal development tools
- Beat – A national helpline and support service focused on eating disorders.
- Wellbeing Football Stockport – ‘Get Onside’ Mental Wellbeing Football program, tackling the stigma of mental health through weekly Monday football sessions in Stockport.
- Stockport Wellbeing Trust 90-Minute Club – A reminiscence and community-building initiative for local people aged 60 and over.
