“I love my team to bits. The team is supportive, encouraging, knowledgeable and always on hand to help. It’s so different here from other places I’ve worked- it feels like a family. There is a real sense of belonging and all voices are listened to.”

Michael's Story

When did you join Movera and what do you do?

I joined Movera in May 2022. Me and other colleagues co-designed the Remortgage/Conveyancing pathways for new and existing colleagues wanting to become case managers or property lawyers. When creating and delivering any material, we always look to ensure that we take a blended approach, therefore been mindful of each colleagues own personal learning style (s)

What are your tips for keeping well mentally and physically?

Yoga is very grounding, both physically and spiritually. In fact, I’m running an introductory Yin and Yang meditative yoga class for all colleagues across the whole Movera group.

I also love mountain climbing – It teaches you so many vital lessons because it pushes you out of your comfort zone. But it also teaches patience, determination, when to concede and when to push on to name but a few valuable lessons I have learnt.

I tackle unnecessary stress by only influencing what I can. If I can’t influence a challenge or situation, I’ll park it.

What is your typical day

I am delivering training to our new business centre colleagues. We designed a program to broaden the team’s sales prowess with the aim of increasing the conversion volumes. The training includes behavioural training, rapport building, active listening, questioning skills, sales techniques and mindset to ensure well run conversations with clients which should lift volume of conversions from enquiries.

I’m also working on developing a conveyancing training pathway with blended learning, to embed personal agency in training. This will help conveyancers to feel more confident dealing with live files.

I love my team to bits. The team is supportive, encouraging, knowledgeable and always on hand to help. It’s so different here from other places I’ve worked- it feels like a family. There is a real sense of belonging and all voices are listened to.

What opportunities to grow are there at Movera?

There are plenty of opportunities to grow at Movera and I’d love to develop a wellness and mindfulness course.
