Job Description

Movera is seeking a skilled .NET Developer to modernize and enhance our conveyancing Platform. The Platform offers end-to-end support for quotation distribution, tracking, and payment processes.

As part of our team, you will help lead the migration of the platform from the legacy .NET 3.5 framework to modern technologies, implement best practices for automated testing and CI/CD, and ensure the system adheres to industry standards for security and scalability to ensure it is maintainable for the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Upgrade and Migrate:
    • The role involves updating the system’s backend, front-end, and infrastructure to improve security, performance, and maintainability, including migrating to .Net 8 and moving the front end to a modern, responsive interface.
  • API Modernization:
    • Refactor the existing SOAP-based APIs into RESTful services improving scalability and simplifying the API architecture.
  • Database Optimization:
    • Optimize the database for better performance and maintainability.
  • Design and Architecture Improvements:
    • Review and provide feedback on improvements that can be made along with already suggested improvements in current backlog.
  • Testing and CI/CD:
    • Design and implement automated unit tests to ensure consistent code quality and prevent regressions.
    • Establish a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline to automate testing, builds, and deployments.
  • Security Enhancements:
    • Update the system’s authentication and authorization mechanisms to meet modern security standards.
  • Collaborate:
    • Work closely with the Head of Applications, Development Team and project managers where appropriate to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
    • Stakeholder management and updates to business to be provided
  • Release Management:
    • Adhere to release policies and coding standards as identified by the Head of Applications.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development using the .NET
  • Strong expertise in .NET Core/.NET 6/7/8 migration from legacy .NET versions (3.5).
  • Proficiency in NET, C#, and Angular (or similar front-end frameworks).
  • Hands-on experience with SOAP to REST API migration and JWT
  • Familiarity with Singleton design patterns, dependency injection, and POCO classes.
  • Solid understanding of database design, including the implementation of foreign key constraints.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on refactoring complex, legacy codebases.
  • Knowledge of security best practices, especially for legacy system upgrades.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in estate or conveyancing software platforms.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure for deployment.
