Over the past few months, our Talent team has been out on campus across the UK, speaking with students about careers in the legal sector. It’s been a valuable few months on the road, and a chance to meet students at some of the country’s leading universities. The events included:
- University of Manchester
- Manchester Metropolitan University, Spring Graduate Jobs and Placements Fair
- University of Salford, Spring Careers Fair
- Cardiff University, Spring Careers Fair
- UK Careers Fair, Leeds
The conversations were consistent wherever we went. Students want clear routes into professional careers, and many are questioning whether the traditional path into law is the only one. The questions were practical: what the day-to-day role looks like, how progression works, and what support they can realistically expect. It’s the kind of direct, honest conversation we’re happy to have.
That tracks with what we see at Movera. Conveyancing is a part of the legal sector that’s often misunderstood and significantly undersold. It’s fast-paced, increasingly tech-driven, and offers genuine opportunities to develop expertise quickly. The scale of the work, the pace of the industry, the opportunity to build real skills from day one, these aren’t things that tend to come up in careers fairs unprompted. We made sure they did.
We also took the opportunity to talk about what sets Movera apart: a business that’s growing, investing in its people, and building structured pathways for those who want to progress. The Movera Academy is central to that, designed for people who want a direct, supported route into the sector without the traditional barriers.
