This week marks National Volunteering Week, and it is a moment we are proud to take part in.
As part of our commitment to making Movera a great place to work, all colleagues at Movera receive two paid volunteering days each year. Time set aside to support a charity or cause that matters to them, separate from their annual leave, and fully supported by the business.
People who care about more than the job
At Movera, we are in the business of helping people move. It is a process that touches some of the most significant moments in someone’s life. That awareness of what really matters to people shapes how we think about our responsibilities beyond the transaction.
Volunteering is one expression of that. Whether it is supporting a local food bank, working with a community organisation, or raising money for a cause close to someone’s heart, we want to make it easy for our people to show up for others.
This week, a group from our team are doing exactly that by taking part in the London Legal Walk, a 10km fundraising walk raising money for charities that provide free legal advice to people facing debt, housing issues, asylum claims and domestic violence. Access to justice should not be determined by someone’s ability to pay for it, and we are glad to play a small part in supporting that.
Why it matters to us
Wellbeing, community and culture are not afterthoughts at Movera. Alongside our Mental Health Ambassador programme and our focus on professional development, volunteering sits within a wider commitment to building a workplace where people feel valued and supported.
We also believe that businesses with roots in their communities are stronger for it. Two days a year is a small commitment. The impact can be anything but.
